Saudi Arabia to Host Inaugural Arab Cybersecurity Ministers Council Meeting

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia is hosting the inaugural meeting of the Council of Arab Ministers of Cybersecurity in Riyadh on Monday, bringing together officials and experts from various Arab League countries.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit will attend the meeting to foster cooperation in cybersecurity and develop unified cyber frameworks.

The council, established in September 2023 based on a Saudi proposal, seeks to consolidate Arab efforts to address escalating cyber threats and attacks.

The Saudi National Cybersecurity Authority, founded in 2017 to safeguard the Kingdom’s national security and interests against cyber breaches, is organizing the event.

The primary goal of the Riyadh meeting is to strengthen collaboration among Arab nations on cybersecurity issues, serve as a platform for knowledge exchange, and promote a secure Arab cyberspace that supports growth and prosperity across the region.
